What happens on wipe?

Wipes are a normal part of Rust. This guide explains what resets, what stays, and what you should expect on Royal Rust.

What is a wipe?

A wipe resets part of the server to keep gameplay fresh and balanced. Wipes allow new players to start fairly and prevent long-term domination by a single group.

When does the server wipe?

  • The wipe schedule is announced in Discord
  • Wipes are always Monthly
  • The final event before wipe is always Purge

What gets wiped?

  • All player bases and buildings
  • Inventories and storage and backpacks
  • Map progress and blueprints
  • Money will be wiped ONLY on forced wipe

What does NOT get wiped?

  • VIP perks (if applicable)
  • Cosmetics and skins
  • Server-specific rewards unless stated otherwise

What should I do before wipe?

  • Participate in the Purge event
  • Use The Offering to boost your Skilltree XP
  • Spend unused resources
  • Have fun — nothing is lost permanently

After wipe — what next?

  • Join early to claim a good base location
  • Check Discord for wipe information
  • Review updated rules or changes
  • Start progressing again with everyone else
